What is OWWA Scholarship?
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is a non-profit organization that promotes the welfare and well-being of Filipino workers working abroad. These scholarships are the best opportunities for Filipino students whose parents work overseas.
OFW Dependent’s Scholarship Program
OFW recipients and dependents can apply for scholarships from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). It is important to keep your owwa membership active if you are and ofw.
One of the opportunities is the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP). This scholarship program is open to dependents of active OWWA members who are enrolled or plan to enroll in any 4-year or 5-year baccalaureate course at any college or university. Any OFW dependent who is an active OWWA member may apply.

Benefits of OFW Dependent’s Scholarship Program
Every school year, the OFW Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP) provides qualifying dependents of current OWWA members with a financial assistance of PHP 20,000.00. The scholarship can be used to pay for tuition, accommodation, books, or any other educational expenses. Getting a scholarship of PHP 20,000 per year is beneficial for owwa scholars.
What is Education for Development Scholarship Program?
The Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) offers qualified dependents of active OWWA members financial assistance of Php60,000 per school year to cover tuition fees and other academic-related expenses until completion of the 4-5 years baccalaureate course in any preferred colleges or universities.
Who can apply for EDSP Scholarship?
- Single
- Not more than 21 years old
- Grade 12 graduating student
- GWA of 80% or its equivalent
- Child of an active OWWA member or Sibling of a single or married but childless active OWWA member
- Must submit academic of grades 9, 10, & 11 in ANY of the following official documentary form:
- Form 137, Form 138 or Transcript of records
What are the Required Documents?
Once the scholarship applicant has been officially notified that he or she has passed the pre-qualifying process or examination, the requirements listed below should be prepared and submitted.
- 2×2 ID pictures
- OFW Passport I.D.
- Birth Certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) / Local Civil Registrar (LCR)
- Form 137/ Form 138/ Transcript of Records (TOR)
- Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) (For Single OFW whose dependent/applicant is the sibling)
- OFW Declaration of No Child Dependent (For Married OFW but childless)

What is Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program?
The Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP) is a baccalaureate scholarship program mandated by RA 10022. Qualified applicants are eligible for a Php60,000.00 grant per school year till they complete a 4-5 year baccalaureate course at any college/university in the Philippines. The program will benefit deserving migrant workers and/or their immediate descendants who want to take courses primarily in the field of science and technology as identified by DOST.
Who can apply for this scholarship?
- Deserving Migrant Workers (active OFWs) who are not more than 45 years old
- Children of active OFWs who are below 21 years old
- GWA of 80% without failing grades or within 20% of graduating class for children of ofw and no failing grades
- If OFW: Annual Family gross income of $2,400.00 or P76,000.00
- The Alternative Learning System passers under the Continuing Education Program – Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) with an average of at least 85%or its equivalent as certified the DepEd Accredited Schools.
What are the Required Documents?
- OFW Passport I.D.
- 2×2 ID pictures
- Birth Certificate authenticated by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) / Local Civil Registrar (LCR)
- Form 137/ Certified true copy of Form 138/ Transcript of Records (TOR)
- Any Proof of Family Income i.e. (Income Tax Return, Pay Slip, Overseas Employment Contract (OEC), and others as applicable
